Despite being done by the evil conglomerates, I think this may end up being good for privacy. At least in the sense that if there is an open standard on how these systems interact, it might open doors to the more control to the user over how these devices communicate.
Still early to say much, but given the IoT (Internet of Trash) is inevitable because people can’t resist cheap useless tech that spies on them, at least it’s best if they operate on open standards and developed by equally power full organizations (to avoid the problem of android where google owns it all despite its supposed “openness”)
