DPA of Portugal is under-resourced

CNPD is the portuguese data protection authority (DPA), but they are heavily undersourced. Some highlights on the problems:

  • 22 workers only (1/3 of what it should have compared to other countries)

  • Legally restricted from hiring more people - from a conversation @core had with an employee. They have money apparently (part of the fines goes to them:)

Nós recebemos informação oficialmente, e pelo menos em Novembro passado eram 19 trabalhadores.

Tive algum feedback de surpresa, lá fora, quando souberam que eles ficam com parte das multas. Talvez não seja comum na Europa (tbc).
